What This Covers
Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store on your device, and that your browser sends back on later visits so the site can recognize your session and remember settings. Similar technologies include browser local storage and session storage, which keep small pieces of information on your device without being sent automatically to a server. Throughout this policy we use the word cookies loosely to mean cookies and these similar technologies together. PartiStack, Inc. uses only a small, functional set of them, described below, to keep you signed in, keep the marketplace secure, and remember a few of your choices.

How We Categorize Them
We group the technologies we use into a few plain categories: strictly necessary cookies that the site cannot function without, functional and preference storage that remembers your choices and where you are in a flow, and security and integrity technologies that help protect accounts and prevent abuse. We do not currently use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or third-party marketing trackers, and we do not sell or share cookie data with advertising networks. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

Strictly Necessary And Authentication Cookies
These cookies are required for the marketplace to work and cannot be switched off through our site. The most important ones are the authentication and session cookies set by Supabase, which we use for accounts, sign-in, and secure sessions. When you sign in, including by signing in with Google, these cookies let us recognize your browser on subsequent requests so you stay logged in and can access your bookings, listings, messages, and dashboard without re-entering your password on every page. They also keep customer and vendor sessions separate and secure. Because they are essential, they do not require consent, and blocking them will prevent you from signing in or using core features.

The Signup Intent Cookie
When you begin creating an account, we may set a short-lived signup-intent cookie that remembers details of the flow you started, such as whether you are signing up as a customer or as a vendor and where to send you after your email is confirmed or after you finish signing in with Google. This keeps the signup experience consistent so you land in the right place with the right role. It is a functional cookie tied to the account-creation process and is not used for advertising or tracking you across other websites.

Functional And Preference Storage
To make the product feel consistent between visits, we store a few small preferences in your browser local storage rather than in cookies. These include whether you have already seen and dismissed the cookie notice, whether you have completed onboarding tours or dashboard walkthroughs, and similar display or interface choices. This information stays on your device, is not automatically transmitted to our servers, and simply prevents us from showing you the same notice or tour again. You can clear it at any time through your browser's site-data controls, though doing so may cause notices and tours you have already seen to appear again.

Security, Integrity, And Rate Limiting
We use technologies that help keep accounts and the marketplace safe. This includes support for rate limiting, which we operate with Upstash Redis to detect and slow down abusive traffic such as repeated failed sign-in attempts or automated abuse, and it may include lightweight signals used to protect forms and sessions from misuse. These security functions are part of keeping the platform trustworthy for customers planning events and for the independent vendors who fulfill them. We may in the future add a bot-protection service such as Cloudflare Turnstile to protect signup and sensitive forms; if we do, it may set its own cookie or read a token strictly for that security purpose, and we will update this policy accordingly.

Payments And Stripe Cookies During Checkout
Payments and vendor payouts on PartiStack are handled by Stripe, including Stripe Connect for paying out independent vendors. When you go through checkout or interact with a Stripe-powered payment element, Stripe may set or read its own cookies on your device to process the payment securely and, importantly, to help detect and prevent fraud. These Stripe cookies are set by Stripe as an independent data processor and are governed by Stripe's own cookie and privacy policies rather than by us. They are integral to taking payment safely, and blocking them may prevent you from completing a booking.

Other Service Providers
PartiStack runs on a small set of infrastructure providers, and some of them may set or read cookies or similar identifiers strictly to deliver their part of the service. These include Vercel, which hosts and serves the site through its content delivery network and may set cookies for load balancing, routing, and platform security, and Supabase, which as noted handles authentication, our database, and file storage. We use Resend to send transactional email such as booking confirmations and account notices; Resend does not set cookies in your browser through normal transactional email. Each provider's use of any cookies is also governed by its own policies, and we work with these providers as data processors on our behalf.

No Advertising Or Marketing Trackers
We want to be direct about this because it is unusual and it matters: PartiStack does not currently run advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, social media tracking widgets, or third-party marketing analytics that follow you around the web. We do not build advertising profiles from your activity and we do not share cookie data with ad networks. Any measurement we perform to keep the marketplace reliable is done in a limited, first-party way. If we later introduce analytics or advertising technologies that are not strictly necessary, we will describe them here and, where required by California, EU, or UK law, obtain your consent before they are set.

How To Control Cookies In Your Browser
You are always in control of cookies at the browser level. Every major browser, including Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, lets you view, block, and delete cookies and clear site data, either for all sites or just for partistack.com, and lets you clear local storage the same way. You can usually reach these controls in your browser's privacy or security settings, and your browser's help pages explain the exact steps. You can also use private or incognito windows, which typically discard cookies and local storage when you close them. Clearing or blocking our cookies will not delete your PartiStack account, but it may sign you out and reset the preferences we had remembered.

What Happens If You Disable Cookies
Because the cookies we rely on are functional and security-related rather than advertising-related, disabling them has real effects on how the site works. If you block the Supabase authentication and session cookies, you will not be able to sign in or stay signed in, which means you cannot manage bookings, listings, messages, or payouts. If you block the signup-intent cookie, account creation may not route you correctly. If you block Stripe's cookies, you may be unable to complete a payment at checkout. If you clear functional local storage, notices and onboarding tours you have already dismissed may reappear. We do not set non-essential cookies that would degrade your experience if refused.

Global Privacy Control And Do Not Track
Some browsers and extensions can send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal or a Do Not Track header that communicates a preference not to be tracked or to have personal information not sold or shared. Because PartiStack does not sell or share your personal information and does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, there is currently no advertising activity for a GPC signal to stop. We nonetheless respect these signals consistent with California's CCPA and CPRA, treat a valid GPC signal as an opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal information, and will continue to honor them if we ever introduce technologies where they would apply. Children
PartiStack is a marketplace intended for adults booking and providing event equipment and services, and it is not directed to children under 13, or under 16 in regions where that higher age applies. We do not knowingly set cookies to build profiles of children or knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has created an account or used the site, please contact us so we can address it.

Updates To This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our technology, our service providers, or our legal obligations change, for example if we add a bot-protection service, introduce analytics, or begin using new payment or infrastructure vendors. When we make material changes we will post the revised policy on this page with a new effective date, and where the law requires it we will seek your consent before setting any new non-essential cookies. Your continued use of PartiStack after an update means you have seen the current version, which always governs.
